THE world's smallest theatre and cinema will be among the many attractions at BigFest, a free street festival in Uxbridge, organised by Hillingdon Council.

Now in its 12th year, BigFest will bring the spirit of Covent Garden street performance to entertain and delight audiences on Sunday, September 28, noon-4pm in the town centre.

"BigFest is a family-friendly street arts festival that is free to attend and always proves popular, said Cllr Douglas, Mills, cabinet member for community.

“This year it promises to offer the curiosities and delights of a travelling show alongside the magic of street performance.

"The whole town centre has worked together to make the festival a success, with The Pavilions running shows and performances throughout the afternoon and the library and Waterstone’s both providing a programme of activities, which is wonderful.

"We're hoping more people than ever will join us in Uxbridge for an unforgettable afternoon."

As well as a tiny theatre built on a motor cycle sidecar and a cinema that fits snugly into a wardrobe, BigFest will feature a caricaturist, a sword swallower, a street magician and traditional fairground games.

Fans of live music should head to the flower stall stage, opposite Uxbridge tube station, where an eclectic mix of acts will provide a soundtrack to the festival, while bookworms will enjoy the pop-up literature salon.
