A GROUP of friends from Northwood are running and rowing 200km in a single gym session to raise money for Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors Without Borders, an independent charity battling the Ebola outbreak in West Africa.

Rob Commons, Emma Hawley, Anni Bould, Chris Evans, Ollie Corke, Reef Choudhury, Nick Torr, Danya Bakhbakhi, Jezz Boyd and Jimmy Hutton will have eight hours, two treadmills, and two rowing machines to complete the 124-mile challenge on Saturday, January 17, at Northwood Hills Body Studio, who have offered the machines free of charge.

Almost 7,000 lives have been lost since the Ebola outbreak was declared in March and MSF's 3,436 staff working in Guinea, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Mali are aiming to stop it spreading.

Funds raised from the gym challenge will go directly to MSF's efforts abroad, paying for supplies and staff at the Ebola treatment centres, which offer those infected the best possible chance of survival.
