THE vibrant history of Hayes and its diverse community will be celebrated at the town carnival on Saturday, July 11.

Hayes Carnival parade will start in Pump Lane at 12.30pm and make its way to Barra Hall Park, bringing the area's history vividly to life.

The Toque Tambor Samba Band will head this year's procession and keep the pace by beating out a lively rhythm along the mile-long route.

Free events in Barra Hall Park will begin at 1.30pm, with the main stage showcasing the parade prize giving, plus Jack Walton from the X Factor, the winner of Hillingdon's Hidden Talent competition, Ethan Beer, 1950s/60s soul singing trio The Estrellas and the Schools Community Choir.

Carnival goers will also get to sample a range of activities in the park, including Gozart and his giant puppet, the Save the Lyma Birds puppet act, the Bubble Man show, stilt walkers, a story camp, floral demonstrations, sports zone, community stalls, food court, Monty Hammond's Fun Fair and more.

As part of the Hayes Town Centre improvements, the council is also inviting residents to contribute to a Sounds of Hayes playlist.
