A HAYES man is due to be sentenced today for the murder of his estranged wife in Uxbridge.
Gibson Mazikana, a 41-year-old mechanic of Reid Close, was yesterday found guilty at Southwark Crown Court of knifing Emily Munemo, a 42-year-old nurse.
After the verdict, Detective Chief Inspector Jamie Piscopo, from the Met's Homicide and Major Crime Command, said: "Mazikana stabbed his estranged wife to death in what has been described as a 'frenzied attack' whilst she was in what should have been the safety of her own home.
"The violence he inflicted that day and the evidence against him meant that there was only one possible outcome.
“Emily had devoted her life to looking after others as a nurse and Mazikana has robbed others of her kindness."
Police were called to reports of an injured woman at an address in Collingwood Road on January 30 at about 11.10am.
Emily Munemo had been stabbed and was pronounced dead at 12.22pm, with a post mortem showing the cause of death as a stab wound to the chest.
Police said the detectives investigating the murder discovered that Mazikana had contacted an associate to try to arrange for Ms Munemo to be killed, but the man refused to help.
