A man has been sentenced to seven years in prison as part of a mass operation in Watford.

Dwayne Butler, 28, from Gladstone Road, Watford, was sentenced at Harrow Crown Court on August 15 for conspiracy to supply class A drugs.

Butler was one of 26 people to be arrested as part of the eight month operation which involved around 100 officers from the Safer Neighbourhood Team, Operation Scorpion and Operational Support Group.

Nick Lillitou, neighbourhood inspector, said: “This operation actively targeted those suspected of being involved in drug supply has proved a great success. It was launched following concerns from local residents.”

As part of the operation, which begun in September 2015, nine people were jailed for a combined total of 32 years and 10 months.

Six people were also handed suspended sentences, four people were cautioned for handling stolen goods and three people were handed youth referral orders.

  • Simon Alcott, aged 46, from Queens Road, Watford, was sentenced to seven years in prison for being concerned in the supply of class A drugs and supplying a controlled drug.
  • Scott Anthony, aged 23, Monica Close, Watford, was sentenced to four years in prison for supplying a controlled drug.
  • Daniel Guminski, aged 33, of no fixed address, was sentenced to three years in prison for being concerned in the supply of class A drugs and supplying a controlled drug.
  • Brandon Poyser, aged 21, from Harrington Road, South Norwood, was sentenced to three years and eight months for being concerned in the supply of class A drugs and supplying a controlled drug.
  • Montel Maxwell, aged 20, of no fixed address in London was sentenced to two years and four months for supplying a controlled drug.
  • Louis Lang, aged 21, from Restons Crescent in London, was sentenced to 32 months in prison for being concerned in the supply of class A drugs and supplying a class A drug.
  • Ryan Finch, aged 31, from Linton Avenue, Borehamwood was sentenced to 30 months in prison for supplying a controlled drug.
  • A 33-year-old man from London was sentenced to eight months for supplying a controlled drug.
  • A 28-year-old man from Harrow was sentenced to 18 months suspended for two years and ordered to carry out 100 hours unpaid work.
  • A 41-year-old man from Watford was handed a 16 month suspended sentence for supplying a controlled drug.
  • A 32-year-old woman from Croxley Green was given a 16 month sentence suspended for 12 months after pleading guilty to supplying a controlled drug.
  • A 24-year-old man from Hitchin was sentenced to 16 months suspended for two years and ordered to carry out 100 hours unpaid work after pleading guilty to being concerned in the supply of class A drugs and supplying a controlled drug.
  • A 49-year-old man from Watford was sentenced to 16 months suspended for two years after pleading not guilty to supplying a controlled drug.
  • A 42-year-old woman from Watford was given a 16 months sentence suspended for two years after pleading guilty to supplying a controlled drug.
  • A 48-year-old man from Watford was given a four month sentence suspended for 12 months after pleading guilty to offering to supply a controlled drug and supplying a controlled drug.
