TWO Ickenham Youth girls teams reached the finals of the Bucks & MK Football League at Thame on Saturday (29). It was a first for Ickenham to progress this far in a tournament.
The Under 10 Unicorns beat Chesham United Girls 3-1 to capture the Under 10s section.
Two hours later, it was the turn of the Under 12s against Aylesbury Dynamo Blues – and again Ickenham lifted the cup with a 3-0 victory.
It was a huge boost for girls’ football in the borough in what is still a male-dominated sport.
