Wycombe defender Stuart Nethercott has joined conference side Woking on a four-month loan in a bid to gain first-team football.

The 32-year-old former Tottenham centre-back was a regular in Wanderers' back four under Tony Adams but has found his opportunities limited under John Gorman and has found himself left on the bench this term.

He joins a side fourth from bottom in the Conference, with only one win from five games.

Blues boss John Gorman said: "He wants to play first team football and it would be wrong of me to stand in his way.

"He has been a fantastic person to have around. He is such a good character that it has almost been like having an extra coach around.

"But he wants to play football and people who are as good as he's been have to be treated well. It would have hurt him badly if we had denied him the chance to play first team football somewhere.

Under the terms of the deal Wanderers cannot recall him for the first month, but can do so after that.

Wycombe have also released youth teamer Tamba N'gongo while Jamie Brooks has joined Slough on a month's loan.

Midfielder Matt Bloomfield has stepped up his training after damaging his ankle ligaments in the 4-0 win over Bury on August 20.

Manager John Gorman is hoping that the former Ipswich Town trainee could even be in contention for next Saturday's trip to Edgeley Park to face Stockport County.
