SANDY Lodge at Northwood is celebrating wins in two of Hertfordshire’s premier golfing titles.
Jordan Lawrence and Stuart Patrick won the 2014 Interclub Foursomes, played at East Herts GC, with a 36-hole score of 144 (two over par which was a three-shot win) in the foursomes medal format.
The second triumph came when Sandy Lodge defeated Harpenden Common 6½- 5½ in the deciding match of the 2014 Herts Division 1 Scratch League.
The match was a winner-take-all scenario, with both teams able to take the title with a win, and Harpenden Common had the advantage of being able to draw the match to take the title.
Sandy Lodge had a decisive 2½ -1½ after the morning foursomes, with the afternoon singles halved 4-4, meaning Sandy Lodge win the league and Harpenden Common finish runners-up.
Sandy Lodge have been in the first division for 16 consecutive years, winning three times previously, most recently in 2008.
