BOYS aged 16-18 are being offered a chance to train like professional footballers while continuing their academic studies.

The former AFC Hayes Football Academy, now known as Pro Football Academies UK, is in its second year.

Based at Brunel University Sports Park, Hillingdon, it gives an opportunity to 40 post-16 students, aged 16-18, to study while developing their football skills.

The education includes a range of full-time courses including NVQs in sports coaching/ activity leadership and BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Sport as well as the FA Level 1 and Level 2 Coaching Certificate.

Students are supported by experienced coaches and tutors. Matches are played on a weekly basis in the Allied Counties Floodlit Youth League, Football Conference Youth Alliance, the FA Youth Cup and Middlesex County Cup.

All training and lessons take place on site at Brunel and the academy provides both AFC Hayes and North Greenford United with their full Under-18 squads.

Trials for 2015/16 will be held at Brunel University Sports Park, Kingston Lane UB8 3PW on the following dates: Saturday November 22, Thursday February 19, Thursday April 2, Tuesday April 7 and Thursday May 28.
