LONDON-BASED American football team The Hornets will play all their 2015 home games at the recently-upgraded Hillingdon Athletics Stadium in Uxbridge.

The Hornets management team were drawn to the Park Road site because of its modern features and good transport links.

The first home game will be against Ipswich Cardinals on Sunday, April 12.

“The Hornets hope the residents of Hillingdon get behind the team as we strive for promotion to Division 1 this year, so we can play against the more established teams next year,” said coach Paul Homes.

“The growing popularity of American football in the UK has given us the opportunity to stage our 2015 season games in this great facility.”

The Hornets will provide a full matchday experience, including cheerleaders and a pop-up samba band to entertain during the time-outs and at half-time.

Burgers, hot dogs, coffee and a full bar will be available on match days.

Adult tickets start at £5 and children’s at £2. Match details and ticket info is available at londonhornets.co.uk
